TOURING FARMERS’ PARTY. .Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, August 18. A party of 38 farmers and farmers’ wives who left for Sydney by the Makura this afternoon, to be present at the; South Australia centenary celebrations were farewelled by representatives of the Government at a luncheon. The Minister in charge of the tourist and publicity department said he was pleased that the first party organised to visit Australia was a party of farmers. The Government was sponsoring the arrangement, and the more reciprocal visits that could be arranged the better they would be pleased. Before they returned to New Zealand they would all be good friends, and they would strengthen the bonds of friendship between the Dominion and the Commonwealth.
