BITTER CRITICISM.
MR DUFF-GOOPER’S SPEECH. “TA‘LK LIKE A HALF~WIT” (United Press Association—Copyright.) (Received This Day, 9.20 a.m.) LONDON, June 16. “If I were Prime Minister 1 would have Mr 'A. Duff-Cooper arrested as a deliberate, dangerous, disgraceful scaremonger,” declared Baron Ponsonby, amid applause and shouts, “That’s the Stuff to give him,” during an address to the International Peace Congress. Lord Ponsonby was referring to Mr Duff-Cooper’s speech at a trade luncheon in which he declared that the situa—tion in Europe is far worse to-day than in 1914, Lord Ponsonby added: “Mr Duff-Cooper is not only a» person talking, this way, but owing to his responsible position, ought to be ashamed: to talk like a half-wit whose only place is a criminal asylum.”
