Mr Alan Sigrist (Assistant-Police Superintendent) was shot in the shoulder and was taken to hospital. Mr Sigrest, a- formed Black and Tan officer, was returning from a tour of inspection ,with a British constable, When Arabs, one of Whom is a, Govern—ment school teacher, emptied their automatics into the car, which fell 30 feet into a valley as Mr Sigrist lost control of the wheel. The constable, though injured, returned the fire and wounded one as—sailant, who died in hospital. The others fled.

Owing to the continuance of disorders, including derailments of trains, tanks are patrolling the areas adjacent to the railways. An aeroplane illuminated the surroundings by means of rockets while troops machine-gunned and repulsed Arabs who were attacking settlements on the Plain of Jezreel.
