THE ASHBURTON CLUB. PROGRESSIVE PAIRS' TOURNEY. A progressive pairs tournament was played on the Ashburton Bowling Club’s greens yesterday. . The winning skip was W. Acton, with four wins. A. Christie was run-ner-up, with three wins. The winning lead was D. Gilmour with four wins. J. W. Bowdjm, with three wins, was runner-up. ANNUAL TEACHERS' MATCH. WIN FOR PRIMARY SCHOOLS.
The annual bowls match between representatives of the primary and secondary school teachers and committees at Ashburton was played on the Ashburton Bowling Club’s green yesterday, and resulted in a win for the primary schools. Details were as follows, with primary schools’ names first: Bathurst, Cooke, Colquhoun, Chambers (s) 26; Hawke, Smith, Cockroft (s) 15. i ASHBURTON TO PLAY RAKAI’A. The Easter howling tournament was concluded to-day. Page and Veitch (West Harbour) defeated Seelye and Davis (Kaituna) in the final of the pairs by 24 points to 10. In the singles, Claridge (Caledonian) defeated Bently (Dunedin), 23-8.
