YEARLING SALES AT SYDNEYVERY BRISK BIDDING. (United Press Association—Copyright) SYDNEY, April 14. The yearling sales opened at Randwick to-day with very brisk bidding for Heroic, Baralong, Sion, and Windbag psogeny. Dr. W. S. King, Auckland, paid 230 guineas for an Heroic—Lady Seaborn bay oolt and 180 guineas for a Baralong—Nobility brown colt. / Top price paid for Heroic and for Sion and Windbag yearlings was 375 guineas. Mr R. Dangar, owner of Peter Pan, secured a Marconigram—lsadora chestnut filly for 210 guineas, while 110 guineas was paid for a Baralong filly, a half-sister to Amounis. Other Baralong youngsters made up to 190 guineas. The top price of the sale, 600 guineas was paid for a beautiful brown colt by The Buzzard from the Seremond mare Sereform, the buyer being R. Rradfield, a Flemington trainer. Other Buzzard progeny were also in keen demand, and a half-brother to the Queensland horse, High Syce, was bought by W. Digby for 650 guineas. H. Winter, of Queensland, paid 500 guineas for a black filly by Excitement. THE MENTONE MEETING. MELBOURNE, April 14. At the Mentone races, Jack Horner was unplaced in the Allandale Trial Stakes. Lady Primrose' was unplaced in the Mentone Plate. Wbernside was third and, Shining Gold was unplaced in the Kingston Welter Handicap. Cape Race was unplaced in the Mentone Purse. Stanchion and Membo were unplaced in the Jumpers’ Flat race.
