SENSATIONAL END TO BOUT. AUCKLAND, April 13. A professional wrestling contest between Earl McCready, of Canada, and Harry Kent, of the United States, ended sensationally in the fifth round when Kent hurtled across the ropes, in attempting a flying, tackle, and fell on the flood beneath the stage. He was unable to continue and the bout was awarded to McCready, who had to ho assisted to his corner_ after being dumped twice by Kent, and dropped with powerful flying tackles. In the
first four rounds Kent had the advantage, keeping MeCready on the defensive with punishing wrist and toe holds. MeCready did not begin to show his best form until late, in the fourth round. His weight was given as 17st lslb, and Kent’s as 16st 41b. WALKER DEFEATS VENTER. NELSON, April 13. • In a professional wrestling contest, George Walker beat Peter Venter by two falls. A submission fall was awarded to Walker in the fourth round, though Venter protested against the referee’s action. Walker exploited the aeroplane spin and the dump to finish the bout.
