When she was knocked off a bicycle by a car this morning, Lyla Gnce, aget 12, residing in Beach Road, sustained a fractured base of the skull, an F, as admitted to the Ashburton Public Hospital in a serious condition. The girl was riding on a bicycle with another girl at about half-past The car, driven by Mr H. Dolan, of Met liven, was travelling in a northerly direction along Eton Street, and came into collision with the bicycle at the cornel of Nelson Street, The bicycle was slightly bent, but the car was not damaged. FALL FROM A HORSE. MAN BREAKS SEVERAL RIBS. Falling from a horse this morning, Mr ]. Price, aged 58, who resides in Alford Forest Road, fractured several ribs. He was admitted to the Ashburton Public Hospital, where bis condition Is satisfactory. •
