FLOWER SHOW

DISPLAY AT RUAPUNA. WOMEN’S DIVISION EXHIBITION. The annual flower show held by the Ruapuna branch of the Women s Division of the Farmers’ Union in the local hall attracted a very large attendance. The judges were-.—Flowers, Mr A. J. Millichamp; cookery, Mrs J. Murdoch; preserves and dairy produce, Mrs G. D. Murdoch; needlework, Mrs P. J- Andrews and Mrs Rollentons. Aggregate prizes for the year’s work were presented by the president (Mrs J. Moore) as follow':—Best bloom, Mrs JD. King; best vegetables, Mrs A. Glassey; most points in class sections, Mrs T. Sewell; dairy produce, Miss L. Boyd; cookery, Miss L. Boyd; preserves, Mrs T. Sewell; fruit and vegetables, Miss L. King; needlewoork, Miss L. Boyd; knitting, Miss L. Boyd; cup for most points in show, Mrs T. Sewell. In the evening a dance was held tp celebrate the fourth anniversary, a cake being a feature of the attractions. There was again a very large attendance. Mr S. Clifford was master of ceremonies. The music was supplied by Dabourn’s orchestra, and an extra was played by Mrs Chambers. Competitions resulted: Monte Carlo one-step, Miss E. Edis and Mr F. Bennett; waltzing competitions, Miss C. Sim and Mr S'. Galletly ; flirtation medley (card), Mrs H. A. Moore and Mr D. Anderson. A posey was presentedliy Miss L. Boyd to the president (Mrs J. Moore). The judges of the competitions were Mrs Chambers and Mrs Cowan. Results at the flower show were:—
