NEW GREEK REGIME.
MILITARY LEAGUE DISRUPTED. FIRM ACTION BY THE KING. (United Press Association— Copyright.) ATHENS, March 5. King George has disrupted the military League, which is hostile to the formation of Venezelist Government and dependent on Communist support, by compelling the resignations of War Minister (General Papagos), and the Secretary for State (General Platis). The war portfolio is now held by General Metaxas. It is understood that the King, who is determined to reign constitutionally, threatened a second abdication rather than allow the military dictatorship to assume power. The early reconstruction of the stopgap Cabinet of M. Demertzis is expected to further ease the situation.
