A SECOND CRUISER COMING.
REPLACING THE DUNEDIN

A memorandum to the Naval Estimates expresses high appreciation oi the Commonwealth's action in temporarily attaching the Sussex and Sydney to the Mediterranean Fleet. It announces that, in addition to the Achilles, the Leander will replace the Dunedin on the New Zealand station.
A London cablegram dated January 17 stated: The naval correspondent of "The Times" says that an arrangement made in 1924 to replace the Dunedin and Diomede in New Zealand by cruisers "of the Leander. class will become effective when the Achilles is shortly commissioned as flagship in succession Dunedin. The list of officers required to volunteer for service on loan to New Zealand was published in Fleet orders to-day. "The Times" writer points cut that New Zealand is thus obtaining a faster, stronger and more modern ship. The Achilles will carry the first ship-borne aircraft that has served in the New Zealand Division.
