COUNTY CENTRES
(From Our Own Correspondents.) RAKAIA. The trustees have disposed of the business of J. Rye and Company, Ltd., Rakaia, from liext Saturday, to* Mr A. N. Pope, of Tokanui. Mr J. Pye started business in a. new shop in front of the Town Hall about 17 years ago, and until bis death carried on a successful business. Mr A. N. Pope until recently has been in business in Tokanui, and before that travelled for the Dunedin branch of Messrs Snrgocd, Son and Ewen. The Rakaia Tennis Club held a social evening in St. Mark’s Schoolroom. A pleasant* time was spent in games, competitions and dancing. Items were given by Misses Edna Kidd, M. Ashford, B. Coatsworth and Mr W. A. Mills. Music was played by Misses J. Breach. E. Kidd and Mr E. Henderson. Mr C. J. Ryan was master of ceremonies.
