A “VICE RING.”

The girls earned *>n average of 150 to 300 dollars a week, but all except a small fraction went to the women managers, who in their tui n made a “pay-off” to a group of gangsters—two heads of the group were now serving long terms in Sing Sing tor simiiar activities. Five months of intensive investigation by Governor Dewey’s staff made possible the uncovering of the operations of the ring. There was a remarkable sight in the early hours of this morning when the arrested women where personally interviewed by Governor Dewey in a search for further evidence.
