CONSTABLES DEATH.
SELF-INFLICTED WOUNDS. AUCKLAND, January 16. The body of Hugh Malcolm Macpherson, aged 54, district constable at Te Whaiti, was discovered early this morning in a whare near his residence. A discharged revolver was lying beside his body. .Constable Maepheft'sbn left a note declaring his intention of taking his own life. An inquest was held during the afternoon. Evidence was given by Mrs Macpherson, who said her husband lately had been very depressed and worried about his health. The coroner returned a verdict of death from self-inflicted wounds.
