FIRE AT MOUNT EDEN
FACTORY BADLY DAMAGED. i ADJOINING BUILDINGS SAVED. (Per Press Association). AUCKLAND', January 16. Fire in a cordial factory of the Citrus Products Company, Ltd., Ewmgton Avenue, Mount Eden, at 11 o'clock last night, destroyed £2OOO worth of uninsured stock and extensively damaged the building. The building was originally used as a chapel at tho New Zealand Institute for the Blind in Parnell. The Are started in the downstairs office and had a good hold when two brigades arrived. Fortunately there was no wind, and the firemen were able to prevent the fire spreading to a boarding-house next door and a cabinetmaking factory on the other side. The flames were subdued m just under an hour.
