ST. JAMES THEATRE. A. sparkling cast, headed by Jean Parker and Chester Morris, and the brilliant direction of David Burton brings "Princess o''Hara," showing finally to-night at the St. James Theatre, all the way into the home stretch a winner. ■ It is the story of how a poor Irish lass becomes involved in the theft of a famous racehorse and how she almost comes to grief over it. Vic Toledo, who owns a string of taxicabs and a stable of horses- on the side, does not realise he is in love with the little Princess until they take her to gaol. He breaks with his society girl friend, whose horse it was that was stolen, because she insists on prosecuting the "Princess" O'Hara. for ;fcn« theft. There is action, movement and! intrigue all through the story and some hilarious moments of comedy capably supplied by Leon Errol and Vince Barnett. MAJESTIC THEATRE. "One New York Night," Metro-Gold-wyn-Mayer's exciting mystery featuring Franchot Tone and Una, Merkel, will be shown at the Majestic Theatre at Saturday's matinee and on Saturday and Monday nights. Concerning a murder committed in a modern, metropolitan hotel, the story presents a unique cross-section of life seen in the various guests who become involved in the mysterious crime. The plot has to do with the disappearance of the dead man's body, a stock broker who is very much disliked. A young cowman from Wyoming, a private secretary, a telephone operator, a Russian Countess and many other guests find themselves directly mixed up in the unsavory affair. Franchot Tone, who has attained such widespread popularity as a romantic actor, portrays the of the cowman who is visiting the big city in search, for a. brunette Jo marry. Una Merkel is seen as a blonde telephone operator who joins forces with the cowman to clear certain suspicions directed at the Countess.
