SEARCH FOR GOLD.
MYSTERIOUS PACIFIC CRUISE. (United Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 9.5 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Outlining a plan for the gold search in which the sailing vessel, Joseph Conrad, is to be used, the owner (Mr A. J. Villiers), a former Australian journalist, said he was taking a party of five. His job was to land the geologists and engineers on an island, where they would make tests for gold. The Joseph Conrad would then continue the voyage to London, via Cape Horn, and New York. Mr Villiers said he was taking a goodsized auxiliary' boat to land the party, who, after making tests, would be able to sail in it to an adjoining island, where they would pick up a steamer and return to Australia.
