FOOTBALL
THE ASSOCIATION GAME. M.C:C. CRICKETERS MAY PLAY. WELLINGTON, January 15. There has been talk of Association football teams from other countries being invited to tour New Zealand, but nearer at hand than any such tours is a special match witli a team at present visiting New Zealand. The fact is that almost all the members of the Marylebone Cricket Club are keen footballers, and a suggestion has,«been made that they play an Association football'match in Wellington when their cricket engagements have been fulfilled, and this has been taken up enthusiastically by the members of the team.
The proposal has yet to be approved, but so keen are the visitors on the idea that there is every likelihood of the football match taking place in Wellington on Wednesday, March 11, two days before the team's departure for England.
