AUSTRALIA BEATS BORDER. INNINGS AND 14 RUNS. EAST LONDON, January 13. The match between the Australian cricketers and the Border was won by Australia by an innings and 14 runs. In Border's second innings O'Brien took his first South African wicket when Richardson caught Mandy off his bowling. Morkel used the "long handle" to advantage, taking 18, including four fours, off one over from O'Brien. Morkel altogether scored six fours. HOME BATSMEN FAIL IN TEST. SUVA, January 14. Conditions were ideal for the final test match, between All Fiji and the New Zealand cricketers. The visitors in their first innings made 234 (Dunning 67, Wyatt 21, Walter 49). The batsmen were more accustomed to the local conditions. Dunning gave a forceful display. Walter scored

slowly, and was lucky. Turaga, the native "express" bowler, was unsuccessful. Cakobau was the best bowler, taking four wickets for 48 runs. Fiji replie3T with 65 for six wickets. Massey took five wickets for 25, capturing two wickets for no runs in the first over. The local batsmen were unable to do anything against his variations of pace and pitch.

SHEFFIELD SHIELD MATCH.

SOUTH AUSTRALIA DEFEATS QUEENSLAND.

BRISBANE, Jan. 14. In the Sheffield Shield match, South Australia defeated Queensland by 10 wickets. "Queensland (first innings 20d) in the second innings made 163 (Hansen 35, Gunthorpe 46). Bowling for South Australia, Ward took three wickets for 36 runs, Waite three for 34. South Australia (first innings 340) ,in its second innings made 29 for no wickets (Badcock 16 and Parker 12). TARRANT'S ELEVEN BEATEN. THE MATCH AGAINST INDIA. LAHORE, Jan. 12. India defeated Frank Tarrant's cricket team by 68 runs. India (first innings 149), in its second innings scored 301 (Wazir Ali 92). Leather took five wickets for 102, Nagel two for 50. Tarrant's team (first innings 166)', in the second innings made 216 (Morrisby 35, Ryder 70, Oxenham 30). Nissar took four wickets for 80 runs, Salauddin one for 18, Baqajilani four for 16, Amirelahi one for 55.

This was the first big victory for India for years, and the greatest enthusiasm prevailed.
