STRAIT AIR SERVICE.
THE SCHEDULE MAINTAINED. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Jan. 14. In spite of stormy weather, the air service across Cook Strait was maintained to schedule yesterday and today, except that, because of low cloud and poor visibility, it was decided today not to take any risk over the hill country between Blenheim and Nelson. One flight between ■these places, therefore, was eliminated for the dav, but the afternoon flight was made as usual from Wellington to Nelson, via Blenheim. Officials of the company emphasise that the 'planes would probably have been able to maintain the schedule on blind flying instruments, but they decided not to take any risk with passengers. The interruption, though minor, will bo eliminated'with the installation of ground direction-finding stations, probably in April.
