UNEMPLOYED WOMEN.
SAME BENEFITS AS MEN. (Special to the'" Guardian.") CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. An indication that the legislation governing unemployment would soon be overhauled to provide equal treatment for men and women, was given bv the Hon. H. T. Armstrong (Minister for Employment), when speaking to a deputation from the Women's Unemployment Committee yesterday. Mr Armstrong said that since the women paid the unemployment tax, it was only reasonable that they should be entitled to the same benefits as the men, and he indicated that alterations would be made to the legislation in the near future to put the women on the same basis of treatment as the men.
