THREE WORLD RECORDS. NEW YORK, December 31. Adolph Kiefer, the 17-year-old 'Chicago swimmer, set a world’s record for the 400 metres backstroke at a swimming meeting at Miama (Florida). His time was smin 28 3-ssec, which is jfsec better than Kiyokawa’s record, established in Tokio in 1933. Two more world’s swimming records were broken when Kiefer covered a 100-metre course in lmin 5 3-ssec, and Miss Erna Kompa, of New York, another comparative newcomer, did 400 metres backstroke in 6min 4sec.
