AUCKLAND TROTTING CLUB. GRAHAM direct wins cup. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, December 27. Fine weather prevailed for the opening of the Auckland Trotting Club’s summer carnival at Alexandra Park to-day, when there was a large attendance. The track was in excellent order and keen racing was witnessed. The totalisator handled £34,884, against £30,789 on the corresponding day last year, an increase of £4095. The Cup was won in good style by Graham Direct, first fancy, and the trophy and whip were presented to the trainer-driver, F. Holmes, by the Prime Minister.
