MORE SPENDING.
BANKS BORROW BEFORE HOLIDAYS. (United Press Association—Copyright.) LONDON, December 26. An indication that Berlin is spending more, notably in Christmas week, was furnished m Lombard Street on Tuesday with the unexpected action of the clearing banks calling in funds before the holidays, necessitating borrowing from the Bank of England.
