TOURIST SHIP.
ORAMA BRINGS 800 VISITORS. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, December 26. With 800 tourists, mostly Australians, the Orient liner Orama arrived this morning from Brisbane. She will sail for Wellington at midnight to-morrow. The Orama left London on November 9, and had a fine trip to Australia. Excursions were organised at most ports. A call was made at Cocos Island, where a barrel containing fresh meats, fish, vegetables and a large iced Christmas cake, was dropped overboard for the European members of the telegraph staff. Cables and letters of appreciation were later received. Fleets of cars to-day took the tourists to Rotorua, Waitomo Caves, and other places of interest. Many will rejoin the vessel at Wellington.
