SEVENTY-TWO PERSONS INJURED A COACH SMASHED TO PIECES. i ANOTHER flung into river. (United Press Association—Copyright.) (Received This Day, 10.20 a.m.) BERLIN, December 25. Twenty-three were killed and 22 seriously injured and 50 slightly injured when the Berlin-Frankfurt express crashed into the rear of a local train near Grossheringen. The'last coach of the local train was smashed to fragments and all the occupants are believed to have been killed. Many of the rescuers were unnerved by the terrible scenes. Rescue work was hampered by the freezing weather and many are still not extricated from the wreckage. It is believed the driver of the express overlooked signals that were set against him.
