THE WEATHER
WARMER CONDITIONS TO-DAY. After cool conditions yesterday the sun shone this morning from a slightly cloudy sky, conditions being warmer. A north-easterly wind was blowing. The maximum temperature yesterday was 60 degrees, and the minimum last night 48.3 degrees. The barometric pressure at 9 a.m. was 29.90 inches, a slight rise from yesterday. TO-DAY’S FORECAST. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Aleteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather:— General inference: An anti-cyclone of rather slight intensity covers New Zealand, hut a rather deep depression is located east of New South Wales. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows:-
Aloderate to north-easterly winds prevailing and later freshening. Weather fair to fine and warmer. Seas slight or moderate.
