ACCIDENTS & DEATHS
FIVE PEOPLE INJURED. CAR STRIKES TRAMWAY POLE. (Per Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 13.‘ Five persons were injured, one of them gravely and two others seriously, when a motor car crashed into a, tramway {pole in Moorhouse Avenue tonight. Those in the car were :._. Mrs Margaret Mary Harrell, aged 44, licensee of the Royal George Hotel, and w well-known owner of trotting horses, injuries to legs and a fractured wrist. ' _ . Mr Thomas Harrall, husband: of Mrs Harrell, working at the Royal George Hotel, injuries to his head. Mr Ernest Scholfield, aged 30, or Hope, Nelson, married, injuries to back and suspected fracture of the spine. Mr George Unkovich, aged 42, traveller, of Hokitika, fractured ribs ,and injuries to his face. Mr J. Donaldson, believed to 'be a. single man, of VVestport, slight injuriesto his head and concussion. No one saw the accident clearly, and the victims are unable to give an account of it. The available evidence )S that the ear swerved to avoid a motor cyclist.
