RAINFALL STEADILY MOUNTING. 27.7 INCHES FOR YEAR. TO DATE. ; Generous falls of rain in Ashburton ‘this month are steadily bringing the total for the year up to that for the same period of 1934. Up to date, 27 .7 inches have fallen since January 1, compared with 30.66 inches for the same period last year and 19.6 inches in 1933. . For the first 10 months of this year the. rainfall was 24.56, inches, against 30.3 inches last year and only 15.77 inches in November, 1933. November two years’ago was also a. partieiflarly wet month, and. in the first fortnight 3.83 inches were registered. ‘ As a .result of the- heavy showers yesterday over half'an inch- was re-‘ corded, the gauge at the Domain weather station reading 56 points.
