MID-CANTERBURY SEAT.
ADDRESSES BY CANDIDATES.
MR HERRING’S CAMPAIGN. Thirty-five people attended at Brookside last evening, when Mr H. E. Herring, the Labour candidate, spoke in continuation of his campaign. Mr T. W. Brooks presided. After his address Mr Herring was accorded a vote of thanks on the motion of Mr A. Barrett. Mi 1 Herring also spoke at Killinchy, where 48 people attended. A vote of thanks, on the motion of Mr 0. Illes, was carried. Mr J. Miller presided. MR WOODS’ MEETINGS. Mr W. H. Woods, the Democrat candidate, addressed meetings at Seafield and Wakanui on Saturday evening. There were good attendances at each meeting and he was accorded a vote of thanks at each. At Te Pirita and Mead, last evening,
he continued his campaign, addressing large audiences at each place. Mr Birdling presided at the Te Pirita meeting and Mr Andrews proposed a vote of thanks. At Mead the chairman was Mr Taylor and a motion ’of thanks was moved by Mr McCoy, junior, and seconded by Mr McCoy, senior. THE PREMIER’S ITINERARY. WELLINGTON, November 10. The Prime Minister (Mi 1 G. W. Forbes) lias returned to Wellington from his own electorate. He spoke at Carterton to-night, and will speak at Marton to-morrow afternoon, at Wanganui at night. On Wednesday he speaks at Eketahuna in the afternoon and at Masterton at night. After addressing a meeting at Levin on Thursday, Mr Forbes will return to Wellington and will leave the same night for the South Island, where he will speak at Oama-ru, Milton, Gore, Invercargill, Rangiora, Woodend and Kaiapoi.
