Sympathy with Mr A. H. Todd (a past president) in his accident w r as expressed by the executive of the Advance Ashburton Association at its meeting last evening.
A presentation of a copy of the Church Praise was made to the Rev. D. Dl MacLachlan by Mr R. Gilmour last evening oil behalf of the congregation of the Flemington Presbyterian Church. The jubilee celebrations of the church were concluded last evening, and the congregation desired that Mr MacLachlan should have a memento of the occasion.
The Rev. T. W. Vealie, of Wellington, a former minister of the Baring Square Methodist Church, has arrived in Ashburton to take part in the Methodist diamond jubilee celebrations. The Rev. H. E. Bellhouse, of Sumner, and the Rev. A. C. Lawry, of Christchurch, reached the town today to attend the banquet to be held this evening.
