Mr Stanley lan Cameron has been appointed deputy Registrar of Births, Marriages and Deaths at Springburn.
I Monsignor Philip Bernardini (apostolic delegate to Australasia), has been appointed Papal Nuncio at Berne (says a cablegram from the Vatican City).
The following appointment was approved by the Canterbury Education Board yesterday:—Elgin, Miss AV. J. Tod.
A motion of sympathy with the relations of the late Mr J. Connolly, M.iP., was passed by the Ashburton branch of the AVomen’s Division of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union yesterday after-, neon.
Miss M. McElhinney, a daughter of Mi- J. McElhinney, of Ashburton, who will complete at the end of the year a home science course at the Otago University, has been appointed to the staff of th© Association for Country Education at the University.
