THE MEMEL ELECTIONS
GERMAN MAJORITY EXPECTED.
(United Press Association-—Copyright) LONDON, October 1. “The Times” says the Memel population is calmer. The booths in the Diet elections are orderly, but voting is very slow, averaging 20 minutes for each person. A 96 per cent, poll is expected to show ah overwhelming German preponderance, although observers declare that Lithuanians are admitted through hack doors while Germans are forced to oueus up.
