HUNGARIAN PREMIER IN BERLIN FRENCH FEAR A NEW BLOC. LONDON, September 30. The visit of General Julius Goemboes (Prime Minister of Hungary) to Berlin, his conversation with General Goering, his two hours’ audience with Herr Hitler, and his conferences with General von Blomberg (War Minister), Dr. PI. Schacht (Minister for Economies), and Baron von Neurath (Foreign Minister) are interpreted as overtures for closer co-operation between Germany and Hungary. The Berlin correspondent of the “Daily Mail” says an investigation of Hungarian aerodromes by General Milch, a. member of the German Air Ministry, strengthens the assumption that an air pact between Germany and Hungary, including an air force for Hungary, was discussed. Hie Berlin correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” says Germany has been carefully looking round, after the agreements concluded or pending between Russia and Roumania, and Russia and Czechoslovakia. It is stated that the conversations last week between Germany and Poland- suggest that Germany is exploring the possibility of military ’co-operation with Poland and Hungary. The Paris correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” says General. Goemboes’s trip is causing uneasiness. ‘ ‘L’lntransigeant’ ’ says: “IF Germany, Poland and Hungary form a bloc, there will be little chance for the independence of Austria which, willy-nilly, will be dragged into the combination, while Jugoslavia is in danger of taking the same direction.”
