BLOMFIELD BEATS ANDRESEN.
WELLINGTON, Sept. 30. A dramatic twist to events, byi which “Lofty” Blomfield, at his last gasp, suddenly turned the tables on Ole Andresen and left him lying unconscious on the mat for some minutes, decided in the fifth round last night’s return wrestling bout between the two at the Wellington Town Hall. Blomfield, although somewhat stronger and much heavier, was lucky not to liav e lost with a figure-four body-scissors. Andresen heavily punished Blomfield m the fourth round and pinned him for a fall. Blomfield came back desperately in the fifth, and threw nAdresen about the ring with lieadlocks, arm-jolts and four flying mares ; but he himself was caught again in a figure-four bodyscissors. Badly out of breath, Blomfield pulled to his feet by means of the ropes, and with Andresen still clinging around him, he fell heavily backwards. Andresen hit.the mat with his head and both shoulders, and a fall was given to Blomfield, Andresen being unable to continue.
CESTOLDI OUTPOINTS WADE. AUCKLAND, Sept. 30. A professional wrestling match between Angelo Cestoldi and Glenn Wade resulted in a win for Cestoldi on
points, after each had secured a fall. In a poor exhibition, Cestdldi scored an easy fall in the second round with a light slam and a body press, and Wade equalised in the final round with a body press.
PENCHEFF AND KRUSKAMP DRAW. SYDNEY, September 29. A wrestling contest at the Leichhardt Stadium last night between George Pencheff and Hardy Kruskamp endedi in a draw, each securing a fall.
