ALLEGED MURDER
HUSBAND ARRESTED.
AUCKLAND MUSICIAN CHARGED.
THIRTY-FOUR WITNESSES,

Eric Mareo, a musician, aged 41, appeared at the Police Court this morning before Mr F. K. Hunt, S.M., on remand, charged that on April 15 he did murder Thelma Clarice Mareo.
Following the death of Mareo’s 29-year-old wife at the Auckland Hospital an inquest was opened the following day, and! after evidence of identification had been given was adjourned sine die, and is not yet completed. Mareo was arrested on September 2. The back of the Court was crowded this morning. The Crown case was conducted by Mr V. N. Hubble and F. McCarthy, while Mr K. C. Aekins and Mr Trevor Henry are appearing for Mareo. It is understood that 34 witnesses will be called by the Crown, including several experts.
