CONDITIONAL RETIREMENT.

Sir Malcolm Campbell, at a dinner in celebration of his recent achievement, revealed that he had promised his wife never again to attack world’s speed records when once he hod passed a speed of 300 miles an hour. “I said I would give it up, and 1 am going to do so, with one proviso: If a, foreigner breaks the record, I will try again. If a British motorist goes out I will do mv utmost to assist him.”
