SPEED OF 100 MILES AN HOOh.
(United Press Association—Copyright) ' LONDON, September 23. The new streamlined express Silver Jubilee, which the London and North East Railway will put into service between London and Newcastle next Monday underwent trials to-day in which the engine maintained a speed of mors than 100 miles ail hour over six miles down falling grades. The maximum speed recorded was a fraction more than 101 miles an hour on the reverse run. The engine reached the summit at 72 miles an hour.
