ACCIDENTS & DEATHS
OLD MAORI WOMAN DROWNED.
(Per Press Association.) GISBORNE, September 23.
A Maori woman, agedl 80, Heni Kokani, was found drowned in the Uawa River, eight miles from Tolaga Bay, yesterday morning. She had failed to return home on Saturday night, and her body was found by a search party. It is assumed 1 that she got into difficulties when crossing the river.
