In a, special attempt this evening on the New Zealand junior hoys’ 75 yards breaststroke record, G. Chambers, the present holder of the record and title, covered the distance in 56 seconds, lowering his own figures by two seconds. Chambers made three attempts this year. In the first, in January, he reduced Reg. Geddes s time of 59 3-ssec by 2-5 of a second. Then in Alay he cut this down by k further l l-ssec, and to-night set a mark of 56see.
