THE CHERTSEY CLUB. The Chertsey Tennis Club held its annual meeting, Mr H. Hargrave presiding. ' , The report and balance-sheet showed the year had been a most successful one. - .
It was arranged to hold the opening day at the end of the month. Officers were elected as follows: President, Mr Walter \A ilk in son ; chairman, Mr H. Hargrave; captain, Mr HL Cox; vice-captam, Mr Flynn; secretary and treasurer, Mr W. Newborn; committee, Mrs W. Newburn, Mrs A. Cameron, Misses Is. Robinson, It. Cameron, M. Burrows, M. Blake, and Messrs S. R, AicConnell and A. Waddell
THE PENDARVES CLUB. The annual meeting of the Pendarves Tennis Club was presided over by the president (Mr James Lambie). The report and balance-sheet showed that a successful season had been Arrangements were made to hold the opening day in the first week in October, and to invite members of all the nearby clubs. It was agreed to top-dress the courts and to hold a “working bee” before the openinig'. Affiliation with the Alid-Canterbury Association was agreed to. Johnson, and J. W. Watson ; club captain, Air P. P. Doig; vice-cap-tain, Mr F. AA r . Ironside; secretary and treasurer, Aliss Lorna Lambie; com-
mittee, Misses 0. M. Doig, D. M. Watson, F. J. Ironside, L Bliss, and Messrs F. D. Ironside, W. Johnson, R. Lambie, and the captain, vice-captain, and secretary ; handicapping committee, captain, vice-captain, and Mr R. Lambie; delegates, Mr P. P. Doig and Mr F. W. Ironside. It was decided that a ball be held to mark the opening of the season.
