HUGE FLYING. BOATS ORDERED
FASTER THAN EXISTING ’PLANES

Imperial Airways, Limited, are ordering a fleet of flying boats, each of 173 tons, with a range of 1500 miles and a speed of nearly 200 miles an hour for the main Empire routes. The Imperial Airways’ new flying boats, which will be liighwing monoplane, with double deck cabins, will be 30 per cent, larger, and from 50 to 60 per. cent, faster than the biggest existing Empire ’plane. The first are expected about the middle of 193 G. It is understood that 16 have been ordered.
