AUSTRALIAN AT GENEVA. GENEVA, Sept. 5. The most highly placed Australian member of tho League of Nations’ Secretariat, Mr Duncan Hili 3 will complete on September 9 eight years wo'k m connection with the umvention fo” the Regulation of the Mauri.i tuic and Supply of Dangerous Drugs. The convention estimates the legitimate quota of every territory, even as small as Norfolk Island. Its work bj described as the only woi!d wide machinery completed by the- League, 56 nations, including non-members, having ratified the convention. A new post will be filled by Mr Hall as liaison officer for *he Dominions press. This has been created through the initiative of M. Avenol, who is anxious to emphasise the Dominions’ status in the League system. Mr Halt will leave for South Africa on October 5, and arrive in Australia early in January. He will spend four months in renewing contact with politicians and journalists.
