ANCIENT PRIVILEGE
MARINES’ MARCH IN LONDON (United Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, Sptember 19. A picturesque ceremonial drew crowds into the streets of the city todav when, before entraining for Portsmouth, the Royal Marines, which had been on guard duty at .Buckingham Palace for the last few weeks, marched through the city in exercise of the ancient privilege and right enjoyed by the Royal Marines for 200 years, of “entering the city of London with colours flying, drums boating, and bayonets lixod.” The company proceeded to the Mansion ouse, where the salute was taken hv the Lord Mayor. This privilege of the marines dates from the time when they formed one of the trained hands of the city.
