MANY REMITS ADOPTED. . (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, This Day. The annual meeting of the National Council of Women has concluded. Miss Kirk (Wellington) was elo;ted president. Mrs Fraer (Christchurch) was made a life member. Among the remits carried werq the following: That the Government he urged to prohibit the importation of back-dated literature of the sex crime type. That an allowance be granted for all children of a family, such allowance to be paid on the mother’s application. That the date and hour of executions be not made public. That the public be excluded from courts during separation and maintenance application cases. That trained women police be appointed with the status and privileges of men police.

That no further permits for art unions be granted. A long debate took place on housing, the matter being finally referred to branches for reports.
