HIGH COMMISSIONER
SIR J. PARR’S TERM EXTENDED
(Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, August 30. The Prime Minister announced today that Sir James Parr had ■ been offered and accepted an extension ot his term as High Commissioner toi New Zealand in London for a further 12 months ending in December 31, 1936. , , Mr Forbes stated he was very glad that Sir James had been able to see has way to continue in office, especially as it was probable that lie would be called upon from time to time to deal with matters relating to_ the Dominion’s primary produce. Sir James had been closely associated with the Dominion’s representatives during the meat negotiations in London and bad shown that lie was possessed of a very full knowledge and a good grip of the situation. Many official and representative people had'paid high encomiums to the work which Sir Janies was performing and to the efficient services he was rendering in London. Mr Forbes said he had had an opportunity of judging this for himself and had nothing hut praise for the manner in which re was discharging the duties of his very important office. The Government would have cause for gratioation that it had been successful m securing his services for a further term.
