Tiie combined meeting of the Taranaki and Egmont-Wanganui Hunt Clubs was opened in stormy weather, which affected the attendance. The track was sodden. The totalisator investments were £4538, compared with £5984 last year. Results: — Trial Hunters’ Steeplechase, of 50 sos; about two miles. —3 (2) Clarion Call 1, 1 (4) Croyden 2, 6 (6) Just Off 3. Won by 10 lengths, five lengths between second and third. Potere was fourth. Time 4min 12 2-ssec. Wereroa- Scurry, of 50 sovs; five furlongs.—3 (4) Red Sand 1, 4 (2) Kia Ora 3,2 (2) Lady Hoariri 3. Won by a neck with third horse a length away. Bright Sky was fourth. Time lmin 6sec. Whenuakura Hack Handicap, of 60 sovs; seven furlongs.—2'.(2) Tahurangi 1, 1 (1) Sporting Song 2, 6 (3) Silk Sox 3. Won by hall a length; length between second and third. Ruaform was fourth. Time lmin 33sec.
