THE ASHBURTON FESTIVAL.

A BIG DAY YESTERDAY. The judges had a A-ery long and busy day at the Majestic Theatre yesterday, Avlieji the third day sessions of the Ashburton Competitions Sbeiety’s festival were held. The programme in the eA'ening Avas not concluded till 11.30 o’clock, but that will probably be the longest evening session of the Avhole festival. There lias been a pronounced quickening of interest on the part of the public in the festival and the attendances since Tuesday morning have shoAvn increases in the similar penod of the 1934 festival. The organisation of the festival is excellent and the sessions have gone through without a hitch, thanks to the preliminary and current work of the officials.
