“You banish us; civilisation banishes you, you who have outraged its values and violated its sanctities,” declared Dr. Stephen Wise (president of the American Jewish Congress) in a slashing attack on Nazi Germany at the Zionist Congress. The Jews protested against the falsehood of claims . .of racial superiority and racial inferiority. Jewish emigration was the answer to the Spanish Inquisition and must be the answer to Germany.
