COUNTY SHIELD SHOOT.

SOMERS

Twelve members of the Ashburton Miniature Rifle Club journeyed to Mount Somers last evening to fire a challenge shoot for the Ashburton County Shield. Mainly due to the moderate shooting of the holders, the local men scored a comfortable win. Scores werg^ — Mount Somers —H. Morgan 74, G.

Following the shoot the visitors were entertained at supper, after which the shield was presented to the winners by the president of the association (Mr A. J. Millichamp). THE STAVELEY CLUB. The first of two shoots for the “Excelsior” trophy was held at the Staveley Miniature Rifle Club’s range last evening. The junior hotty button was won by B. Flynn with 66, and the senior by M.
