WOMEN’S INSTITUTES
Wl LLOWBY-EIFFELTON. The July meeting of the WillowbyEiffelton Women’s Institute was held at Eiffelton. Mrs Pearce presided over a very large attendance. Two new members were elected, and two were welcomed on transfer from another Institute. A motion of sympathy with the relatives of the late Miss A. C, Lloyd was carried in silence.
'lt was decided to help the Disabled Soldiers’ Association and the Institute for the Blind by sales of goods.
Miss E. J. Watt, of Ashburton, gave a most interesting talk on her travels through America, and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. Competitions, judged by Miss Watt, resulted as follows :—Decorated cake, Miss Mary Taylor 1, Mrs E. Hayman 2, Mrs J. Lattimore 3. Marmalade, Mrs $. P. Taylor 1, Miss Mary Taylor 2, Miss M. Lill 3, Specimen bloom, Miss Mary Taylor i, Mrs S. P. Taylor 2, Mrs J. Lattimore 3. Hostesses for the afternoon were * Mesdames Hawkins, • Ford, Harvey, and Glassey.
